Staying at Penny Square Barn

Guests can stay for up to four nights at Penny Square Barn in Batcombe. Arrival is available from 2pm on Thursday 30 July, and departure is by midday on Monday 3 August.

The Classic Tipi Tent

The five-metre Classic Tipi Tent sleeps up to four people and is a practical, budget-friendly choice for small groups. It offers stylish accommodation with a rugged construction designed to keep you cosy whatever the weather.

Each tent is set up for you and comes simply furnished with:

• A heavy-duty, waterproof groundsheet and carpet flooring
• An entrance mat and waste bin
• An LED lantern

The price is £354 for four nights.

Optional furnishings

If you would like a little more comfort without bringing your own kit, you can add a Classic Furnishings pack for £72. This includes:

• Handmade decorative rugs
• Large floor cushions
• Lanterns
• A low rosewood table, roughly the size of a bedside table
• A small mirror

Mattresses and bedding

Single and double futon-style foam mattresses can be added to your order and are laid simply on the ground, camping-style. You are welcome to bring your own bedding and pillow, or to order a mattress with bedding included. Bedding consists of a sheet, a 13.5 tog duvet in a duvet cover, a pillow in a pillowcase per person, and a blanket.

Because fitting rectangular beds inside a circular tent is not straightforward, bed configurations are limited to arrangements that are known to work. If you cannot see the combination you would like, it is likely that the arrangement does not fit well, but you can ask using the contact form.

If you are ordering a mix of mattresses with bedding and mattresses for use with your own bedding, please keep to the maximum with-bedding total shown for either option.

Payment and ordering

A deposit of 50 per cent is available at the time of booking, or you can pay the full amount. Final balance payments are due three weeks before events open to the public, which is 10 July 2026 for Claire and Pat’s celebration.

Orders and additions, such as extra beds, can still be placed after that date, subject to availability.

What to expect on arrival

Your accommodation will be ready and waiting when you arrive. You can drop your bags inside and head straight out to meet friends, or take a nap after your journey. Each tent carries a tag with the surname of the lead booker, so you can be sure you have the right one. Members of your party do not need to arrive at the same time.
